UPDATE: 2:38 PM

Zendaya has taken to her Instagram account to respond to Giuliana Rancic’s apology.

—–

The internet has been on fire ever since Sunday night’s Academy Awards, but it wasn’t the actual ceremony that stole the show.

On a post-awards episode of Fashion Police, E! correspondent Giuliana Rancic made some offensive comments about Zendaya Coleman‘s look, more specifically her faux dreadlocks. Rancic stated that Zendaya looked as if she smelled like “patchouli oil and weed.”

Zendaya clapped back in the classiest way possible, writing a letter responding to Rancic’s hurtful comments. Her letter sparked a social media “Kumbaya” moment, as celebs like Kerry Washington, Ava Duvernay and even Rancic’s fellow E! correspondent Kelly Osbourne supported Zendaya’s reply.

Last night, Giuliana took a moment on E! News to apologize to Zendaya, saying:

“I want to say to Zendaya, and anyone else out there that I have hurt, that I am so, so sincerely sorry. This really has been a learning experience for me — I’ve learned a lot today — and this incident has taught me to be a lot more aware of cliches and stereotypes, how much damage they can do. And that I am responsible, as we all are, to not perpetuate them further. Thank you for listening.”
