The story of the legendary Kurt Cobain has a very tragic ending, but his life was certainly filled with tons of memories, lessons, and spirit that his loved ones will always cherish.

The late Nirvana rockstar sadly passed away in 1994, leaving fans, friends, and family in shock, but his legacy has lived on in music for over two decades. A new documentary called Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck is set to be released by HBO Films this May, and it will follow the true story of the influential rock icon.

The first trailer for the movie has finally been released, and it shows clips of his loved ones sharing untold stories and memories of Kurt, as well as displaying home videos, unreleased photos, and much more.

Montage Of Heck is already said to have gotten rave reviews, and even features an unheard 12-minute acoustic song that Kurt performs.

See Billboard‘s list of 10 takeaways from the film to learn more, and make sure you see the documentary when it releases on May 4th.
