Last night, the Magic Johnson AMC Theater in Harlem held the premiere viewing of Brotherly Love. The independent film was written and directed by Jamal Hill. Hill offers up an all-Black cast to depict a modern-day twist on West Side Story, shot and produced in Philadelphia.

The cast stars Keke Palmer, Corey Hardrict, Romeo Miller, Eric D. Hill Jr., Ne-Yo, Quincy Brown, and Macy Gray, just to name a few.

Although half the cast was absent from the premiere, the viewing still went on without a hitch. The room was filled with moviegoers, critics, and celebrities who came out in support of the film, including Angela Yee, Jadakiss, Lil Mama, Yaris Sanchez, and Mack Wilds. Even Instagram sensation Atown was spotted in the crowd showing support.

As the film played, the audience was in awe of the funny but relatable dialogue and suspenseful scenes. Laughter and applause filled the theater in between acts. To read more about the plot, click here.
