ESPN Magazine’s Body Issue is known for giving us an “intimate” look at our favorite sports stars.
Now, WNBA star and recent tabloid headliner, Brittney Griner, is the latest player to pose completely nude for the publication. Standing at 6’5”, Griner says she embraces her 205-pound frame and has nothing to hide.
“I’m sure people are going to have a lot of critical things to say [about these photos]: ‘Yo, she’s a man!’ But hey, that’s my body and I look the way I look,” she says. “People are either going to accept me for who I am or they’re not. I don’t know what people think I’m hiding … I just want people to see somebody who embraces being naked, embraces everything about them being different.”
Also in the 2015 issue, Clippers player DeAndre Jordan is photographed wearing nothing but a cape as he executes the perfect dunk formation.
