The cast of Straight Outta Compton – Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, and O’Shea Jackson, Jr. – stopped by the No Judgment Zone w/ BlogXilla to talk about their new movie, a highly acclaimed biopic about the rap group N.W.A.

Jason Mitchell, who gives an award-worthy performance as Easy E, spoke about how performing for N.W.A. was moving, because the original members felt like they were watching themselves for the first time. He also talked about how the movie is right on point with the current mood of the nation when it comes to police brutality.

Corey Hawkins, the guy who plays Dr. Dre, discussed how fans are reacting to them now that the movie is about to come out, as well as how he juggled landing new roles (like one on The Walking Dead) while filming and promoting.

The real kicker is when O’Shea Jackson, Jr. who performs a version of his father Ice Cube’s “No Vaseline” in the film, gives his take on the Meek Mill vs. Drake battle. While he does admit he’s biased in saying “No Vaseline” is the best diss record of all time, he’s hoping Meek Mill has another round in him.

Watch this week’s episode of the No Judgment Zone and go see Straight Outta Compton in theaters everywhere Friday, August 14th.
