Beloved NFL player Devon Still has been cut by the Cincinnati Bengals, after spending three years on the team. The news comes during the final wave of the NFL’s preseason cuts, making Still a free agent.

According to ESPN, Still was cut from the team last year as well, but only sat out for one day as the Bengals held onto him. Still posted the following picture on Instagram yesterday, expressing the gratitude he feels for Cincinnati.

The caption reads, in part:

“Have nothing but love for the Bengals organization and the city of Cincinnati. Both helped me through one of the darkest times of my life and I am forever grateful.”

His daughter Leah Still’s battle with cancer was made public by the family last fall. In March, Leah was in remission and despite a few hiccups, she is reportedly doing well.

After Still was cut, the Bengals assured everyone that he would still have access to the health insurance his family needs. According to TMZ:

A spokesman for the Bengals tells us per league rules, the NFL will provide health insurance for Devon Still and his family over the next 5 years — even if he isn’t signed by another team.

We’ll keep you posted as we find out more about the Stills’ future plans. We wish them all the best.
