Lauryn Hill has been keeping her fans on the edges of their seats for over a decade as they hope for new music, and their prayers may be getting answered.

Jayson Jackson, spoke with FADER recently, where he spoke on how doing music for the the Nina Simone biopic inspired the “Doo Wop” singer.

According to Jackson, Lauryn is reportedly working on a new album, which will be the follow-up to her 1999 high-selling album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

He told the magazine, “The Nina Simone experience pushed her hand in a way. I know creating makes her very happy. I couldn’t see her doing as much as she did [on the Simone project] in any state other than happiness.”

Producer Phil Nicolo also spoke on Hill’s album progress, stating that she is “closer than ever to finishing the follow-up to Miseducation.” He continued, “It’s not that she feels like, ‘You can wait for me.’” he says. “She wants to be right. She wants to be perfect.”

We are so excited for more Lauryn Hill music. Are you guys pumped?
