The Kardashian family has undoubtedly been a force to be reckoned with over the last decade. And with the slow emergence of the Jenner side of the family, it seems like the entire clan won’t be losing their title anytime soon.
This year, Kim Kardashian became pregnant with her second child, Khloe and Kris Jenner enjoyed dating again, and Kourtney focused on motherhood after calling it off with baby daddy Scott Disick.
But with all the older sisters going through their own things, it was only right that Kendall and Kylie snatch the baton. Not only did the girls successfully hold the family’s legacy down, but their dad Caitlyn Jenner helped take the entire fam’s fame to another stratosphere.
Here’s why the Jenners completely owned the Kardashians in 2015:
Kylie Jenner
She turned 18.
Kylie turning 18 was one of the biggest stories in entertainment this year. Guys everywhere were thirsting for Tyga’s girl. She even got offers to do porn. The barely legal beauty showed off her assets while frolicking on the beach in Mexico, and the thirst traps began in full force.
She bought a house.
Just shy of her 18th birthday, Kylie purchased a $2.7 million home in Calabasas. You know what they say, moving out of your parents’ house is the first step to immense freedom and adulthood.
She created a crazy successful app.
The Kardashian/Jenner girls launched unprecedented apps this year, with each sister’s having its own unique style. Kylie’s app was the most successful of the bunch, and Kim even joked about passing the fame baton to her little sister.
Her Lips/Lip Kit.
Kylie’s lips went from “Cameron Diaz to Jay Z” within a year. Her pout even started a crazy social media trend: the #KylieJennerLipChallenge. After admitting to getting lip fillers, that didn’t stop the reality star’s fans from wanting her look–so much so that her popular new Lip Kit sold out within seconds of its release.
She dated/broke up with/dated Tyga.
Her relationship with Tyga, seven years her senior, has kept Kylizzle’s name on everyone’s tongue. The rapper’s ex girlfriend Blac Chyna and her BFF Amber Rose even took shots at Tyga for dating the then-17-year-old. But clearly Kylie has Tyga’s heart; he bought her a Ferrari for her birthday and got her name tattooed on his arm.
Kendall Jenner
She entered her twenties.
The supermodel left her teenage years behind in 2015, and what better way to celebrate than becoming the face of Estee Lauder?
She’s killing the modeling game.
Kendall Jenner embarked on a journey this year to become one of the most sought-after models of our generation. She’s graced the covers of a number of high-profile publications, including Vogue, GQ, LOVE, and Marie Claire to name a few.
She became a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
She was recruited to walk in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show along with bestie Gigi Hadid. A dream come true for the once aspiring model.
She beat Kim for the Most-Liked Instagram Photo.
Beating Kim Kardashian on social media is a feat within itself, let alone besting her crazy popular Instagram page. The photo of Kendall lying on the floor in a lace gown with her hair styled in heart shapes is now Instagram’s most liked image with a whopping 2.6 million double taps. Kim’s wedding photo got 2.4 million likes.
She and Kylie launched their PacSun line.
Just like the older sisters, Kendall and Kylie are business-savvy women. They launched their fifth PacSun collection this year.
She’s got a dope app, too.
Kendall’s app proves why she’s fashion’s most in demand woman right now. Her accompanying website gives fans a real glimpse into the life of a supermodel.
Caitlyn Jenner
Caitlyn is born.
Caitlyn Jenner started the year as Bruce, the Kardashian patriarch who was unfortunately dealing with lawsuits from a fatal car crash. After things got settled, she proceeded on with her gender transition.
Her Diane Sawyer interview broke our TVs.
Even though there was a ton of speculation, Bruce finally wanted to come clean and let the world know for sure. In his now infamous sit-down with Diane Sawyer, the former Olympian revealed, “For all intents and purposes, I am a woman.”
Her beautiful Vanity Fair cover was released.
The controversial cover of Vanity Fair revealed Caitlyn to the world for the first time. The love and support rolled in. However, the tell-all interview left a bit of tension between Cait and ex-wife Kris Jenner.
I Am Cait
The E! docuseries gave us a glimpse into Caitlyn’s new life and how she was adjusting to womanhood, family, and her new responsibility as the most famous transwoman in history.
She accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
Although not everyone was a fan of the decision to give Cait the Arthur Ashe Award at the ESPYs, she received a standing ovation from some of the sports world’s biggest stars after her 10-minute speech. Not only did she look flawless, but all the Kardashian/Jenner girls sat in the audience to show their support.
