Fresh off the movie Creed, director Ryan Coogler is on to his next venture. Coogler was enlisted to direct Marvel’s Black Panther movie. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that he would be coming on board in a recent interview. Feige also shared that the cast will primarily be African-American. “This one is important … Not only do you get an unbelievable lead character, but you also get all of Wakanda which is a whole new setting and culture to explore … The movie is a big geopolitical action adventure that focuses on the family and royal struggle of T’Challa in Wakanda and what it means to be a king,” said Feige. Coogler, who is 29-years-old, is best known for his work on Fruitvale Station. Black Panther is slated to be released July 6, 2018. Read more.


President Obama will tackle issues surrounding gun control in our country during a televised town hall-style meeting on Thursday. The event, “Guns in America,” is being hosted by CNN and will air a day before the fifth anniversary of the shooting that left Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords in critical condition. During the program, President Obama is slated to talk about the negative impact that gun violence has had on our country and will take questions from attendees. There have been talks that the president is planning to take executive actions that would strengthen background checks. The executive order, which might possibly be put in place sometime this month, is expected to be strongly opposed by Republican representatives. “We have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world,” said President Obama following the mass shooting that took place in San Bernardino. “Guns in America” is slated to air on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. EST on CNN.
