Fashion has no bounds. And Beyoncé is proving this 100 percent with the new model chosen to rep her merchandise campaign. The “Formation” singer called upon Jillian Mercado, a wheelchair-bound model with muscular dystrophy, to pose for her fresh campaign.

Sporting goods that have lyrics from Bey’s most famous songs —like “Smack It” and “Slay”— the beauty, along with two other models, rock the goods.

“OK LADIES now let’s get in FORMATION!,” Mercado said on Instagram. “So BEYond excited to finally announce that I’m on the official @beyonce website!!! A special shout out to Queen Bee herself and the amazing team behind it.”

But modeling for Beyoncé is just one of the major achievements this girl has accomplished.

Born and raised in NYC, Mercado attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, interned at Allure, modeled for Diesel under Nicola Formichetti and Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book, and is currently signed to IMG Models.

When asked what drew her to fashion, she told Vogue, “I just felt at home, like I had found my people, my little family in fashion.”

Adding, “I knew I needed to be around this all the time, and as a result I became slightly obsessed with it!.. I was shocked that I didn’t see anyone in the industry who was like me. So when people—girls especially—tell me that I’m their role model, I am taken aback. I love it and it is flattering, but it affects me on a very personal level because I remember growing up without having a person I could look to.”

On a more somber note, Queen Bey headed down to Houston this weekend to attend the funeral for her beloved Uncle Lumis “Skip” Joseph Beyincé, her mother Tina’s brother. Documented through Instagram posts and a newspaper obituary, the singer arrived with her husband Jay Z for the funeral services that took place at Praise Chapel in Webster, TX.

We’re sure life will continue to evolve; after all, Bey plans to debut her sixth studio album this year.
