Two musical geniuses become one with the help of a 70-piece orchestra.

The Young Musicians Foundation held an hour-long concert this past weekend at Los Angeles’ Aratani Theatre. The concert was dedicated entirely to Ludwig Van Beethoven and Kanye West and was billed as “Yeethoven.” The 70-piece orchestra mashed up six songs from Kanye’s polarizing Yeezus album and Beethoven’s most notable masterpieces.

The orchestra, which was led by Yuga Cohler, blended “New Slaves,” “On Sight,” “Blood On The Leaves,” and “Hold My Liquor” with Beethoven’s “Overture to Egmont, op. 84,” “String Quartet No. 14,” and “Symphony No.5, op. 67.”

While Yeethoven was being birthed in Los Angeles, Kanye spent his weekend racing Tyler, the Creator at Coachella Music Festival. As you can imagine, the 38-year-old rapper lost the foot race to a very energetic 25-year-old.

Check out the mash-ups above and below.
