Since Tamar Braxton was fired from The Real, rumors have begun to swirl surrounding the reason behind her exit. Now, Daily Mail reports that Tamar’s “ghetto persona” (as perceived by the show’s executives) could be to blame, which is clearly a stereotypical and racist dig.
According to the site, Tamar’s alleged “on-set tantrums, ‘p***ing off’ sponsors and ‘aggressive eye-rolling and mouth-smacking,” caused advertisers to become wary of working with her. A source referenced a specific outburst from Tamar that occurred earlier this month:
“‘It was an ugly scene. Pinterest was sponsoring the segment and Tamar was genuinely upset she was losing the game. She really acted out during the taping in front of the studio audience and then exploded behind the scenes once the show was done. Producers had to heavily edit the segment to make it presentable to air on TV, but the sponsor was on set for the segment and witnessed it all,’ the source explained.
The drama caused the show’s sales team to push for action against Tamar, resulting in her termination. The move apparently caught the rest of the cast off-guard.
“Everyone was caught off guard. None of them saw it coming and everyone was completely blindsided by the decision,” the source continued.
Let’s hope this firestorm dies down soon.
