Hot 97 radio host Ebro Darden usually has a lot to say and sometimes his mouth gets him into trouble. His most recent beef is with Charlamagne and 50 Cent who he believes ruined New York City hip hop. He gave more details in a recent interview.

When talking about 50 Cent, Ebro said, “The fact that he had beef with everybody, right…caused New York to not want to work together. It was very divisive because he was so big…50 was so popular and was co-signed by Eminem, and also had Dr. Dre: two of the biggest people in hip hop.”

Ebro then went on to talk about his relationship with The Breakfast Club host, Charlamagne tha God:

“Uh. We good. He doesn’t like me because I called him a ‘coon.'”

There’s more.

“I take issue with him getting next to the lady that was on the Internet,” he said. “I forgot her name – Tomi Lahren – I felt like the reason he wanted to stand next to her was because she had a large following and whatever.” He then talked about when he approached Charlamagne to take a picture at a Know Your Rights Camp event (led by Colin Kaepernick) and Charlamagne refused. “I don’t even know Charlamagne as a person,” Ebro said. “I stepped to him because I was requested to take a photo with him. I don’t have a problem with that, I’m bigger than that. I don’t care that me and you don’t see eye-to-eye politically or over a certain topic because I called you a name. That’s fine. He didn’t want to.”

Ebro finally said that folks need to be able to tell the difference between radio talk and what’s real: “We gotta learn to separate the real from the bullsh*t…the difference between n*ggas talking sh*t on the basketball court. That’s how I see it. That’s basketball court, sh*t I would say on the football field to get in another n*gga’s head. That’s not real. Real is when I wanna go upside your head with a bottle, n*gga!”

Well, there you have it. You can read the interview here.
