For decades, they have provided the perfect soundtrack for weekends filled with intense cleaning, deep reflection and creating a peaceful atmosphere. The band is back together, recording their next album. To celebrate, we created a list of 16 sultry Sade tracks.
Billboard reported that Grammy-winning band Sade would formally break their musical silence after 12 long years.
In the music publication’s recent cover story, Oscar-winning actor Brad Pitt and French composer and producer Damien Quintard discussed the renovation of the legendary recording facility, Miraval Studios, in Correns, France. Quintard and Pitt named the band the first artists to lay down new vocals at the newly restored recording studio.
“You could feel the love that she and the band had for this place. And when we talked to musicians who came here previously, they all have this special connection with Miraval that can’t really be explained… It’s a dream come true to see this place activate again,” Quintard said.
The notable R&B group comprised of Sade Adu (vocalist), Stuart Matthewman (saxophonist), Andrew Hale (keyboardist) and Paul Spencer Denman (bass guitarist) have not released a full-length project since Soldier of Love in February 2010.
The British-Nigerian songstress, Adu, has been credited as one of the most successful British female artists in history, and is most often recognized as a major influence on contemporary music. Sade’s voice is both soothing and inviting. Her vocals create a real-life sound bath, which harmoniously heals and calms any listener.
