Jay-Z and Beyonce spent the weekend providing some star power to the season opener for the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets, but their hearts were with the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

DETAILS: Beyonce & Jay-Z Get Blacked Out & Turnt Up After Hurricane Sandy!

The Watch The Throne emcee took in the sights of an empty Barclays Center to reflect on the game and all his fellow New Yorkers who lost a part of their lives in the storm. On his website Life + Times, Jay wrote:

“Reflecting on the first game in Brooklyn and thinking about the hurricane.

Thinking about being undefeated and all the losses/wins that lie ahead. Life will always throw adversity and tragedy at us. We remain resilient!

Heartfelt prayers go out to those who lost their lives and to the families who continue the fight.”

Meanwhile, Beyonce provided her Bey Hive a well thought out list of how they can help contribute to the clean up and help Hurricane Sandy victims.
