Katie Holmes was spotted at the Bronx Zoo yesterday with Suri Cruise, and the two looked like they were having a ball!
The mother of the fabulous 5 year old got right down to it as she went up to a couple of giraffes and fed them some leaves with her daughter right by her side.
Even though they seemed to not have a care for the outside world in that moment, Katie is in a little bit of hot water since she missed an appearance at the Dizzy Feet Foundation gala.

According to Celebuzz, Katie’s rep confirmed that she would not be attending, but a source told the site:
“Katie was really excited about attending the event, but in the end, her security team had concerns about the situation, especially the daytime event given it was being held in a public park. Katie is devastated at the turn of events. She was really looking forward to it.”
“The organizers had beefed up security but even after doing all of that, the decision was made because her team couldn’t guarantee Katie’s safety.”

Fortunately, there turned out to be no specific threat against Katie or her team. But it’s always good to take precaution.
Besides, she got to have a great mother-daughter day with Suri at the zoo!
This is the happiest we’ve seen Katie look in years! We couldn’t be more excited for her and hope she continues smiling!
