Oh Azealia!

NEW MUSIC: Angel Haze “On The Edge” (Azealia Banks Diss)

Without a doubt the angriest person on Twitter award has to go to Harlem rapper Azealia Banks. Name a rapper, any rapper, and Azealia Banks has probably argued with them on Twitter.

From Kreayshawn to Funkmaster Flex, Azealia Banks has aired out, fired shots, and cursed the names of dozens of rappers.

NEW MUSIC: Azealia Banks “No Problems” (Angel Haze Diss)

Azealia doesn’t save her Twitter venom for only rappers, she also fires her management and accuses them of domestic abuse on Twitter.

After Azealia’s most recent Twitter brawl with fellow femcee Angel Haze, GlobalGrind decided to round up all of Azealia’s Twitter beefs over the past year, literally.

So sit back, relax, and read on. Some beefs may be a little complicated, but don’t fret, GlobalGrind breaks it down.

Take a look back at all the beefs Azealia Banks has had in the past year below!

Azealia Banks vs. Kreayshawn

How It Started: It all started when Oakland rapper Kreayshawn jokingly posted a PornHub video on Twitter that featured Azealia Banks’ breakout hit “212.”

All would have been well, but Kreayshawn took it a step further with a caption that read:

“Have you guys heard @AzealiaBank‘s “212”? I guess that cunt gettin’ eaten’.”

Azealia didn’t find it amusing and fired back at Kreayshawn, stating:

How It Ended: A few months later, Azealia eventually apologized to Kreayshawn and even suggested the two femcees collaborate in the future.

Azealia Banks vs. Iggy Azalea

How It Started: Apparently, Azealia Banks wasn’t amused by the success of Iggy Azalea’s viral hit “Pu$$Y.”

The Harlem rapper tweeted:

“And f*ck Iggy Azalea, I had a song called ‘Pussy’ before she ever did. Here’s a link to my song. It’s better.”

Iggy Azalea responded by stating:

“The best think you can be is humble, because it’s not about who did it first; it’s about who did it better.”

Azealia fired back:

“Fuck white girls. They are privileged and shouldn’t be allowed to rap, because rap is black culture.”

Azealia’s dislike for the Aussie rapper was brought to new heights when she became the first female to ever grace the cover of XXL’s coveted Freshmen Class issue.

How It Ended: To this day Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea still don’t like each other, and typically steer clear of each other’s paths.

Azealia Banks vs. T.I.

How It Started: After announcing that he would be executive producing Iggy Azalea’s debut album, T.I. came to his artist’s defense against Azealia Banks’ accusations that Iggy was a racist for her “runaway slave master” line and her spot on the XXL Freshmen Class issue.

During an interview with DJ Drama, T.I. said

“Strategically if she really cares about a freshmen cover maybe she could hope that she’ll suck enough to get shelved and then next year when the freshmen cover comes back around, maybe she’ll still be a freshman.”

A month later, T.I. was asked about the feud between him and Azealia on Chicago’s Morning Riot radio show. After referring to the feud as “bitch shit,” T.I. went on to say

“I didn’t even see her comments on Twitter. I know they’re going through their thing, but the fact that she’s speaking upon me and mine, excuse my language, but that’s bitch shit. I’m a man. You ain’t got no business addressing me. Get a man to address me. You got a man, get him to address me, and he and I can speak on it.”

Soon after the interview aired, Azealia hopped back on Twitter to throw a few more punches at T.I., tweeting:

How It Ended: The fire eventually fizzled out and both of them decided to end it.

Azealia Banks vs. Lil Kim

How It Started: Azealia Banks and Lil Kim were supposed to working on a song together, but after the collaboration seemed to fall through, Azealia let out all of her frustrations on Twitter, making some pretty heavy accusations about “The Queen Bee:”

Lil Kim didn’t directly respond back to Azealia, but her publicist released a statement that reads:

“My client and Azealia have NEVER spoke to one another or met AT ALL. Kim was actually very flattered azealia’s public admiration for her, which is why it’s so hard to understand how someone who claims to be a true Lil Kim fan could flip the script so easily on someone who was supposedly their idol.

It is also VERY interesting that NO ONE from her team made any attempts to reach out to anyone from our team to voice any concerns or problems that they may have had. I have NEVER heard of anyone having a conflict with someone they have NEVER met with or personally spoke with.

We have no idea what they are referencing and have no desire to discuss the matter any further as there is nothing to talk about. It honestly seems that someone from Azealia’s team would rather have her fans buy into manufactured drama instead of buying music.”

How It Ended: A few hours after Lil Kim’s publicist released a statement regarding Azealia’s claims, she hopped on Twitter to proclaim she’s “done” with hip-hop and “done trying to impress the older generation.”

Azealia Banks vs. Nicki Minaj

How It Started: Summer 2012, Azealia alluded that she was offered to join Nicki Minaj on the European leg of her “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” tour, but turned down the once in a lifetime opportunity to finish her debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste. Catching wind of Azealia’s claim, Nicki Minaj subtweeted: “#ManTheseBitchesDelirious.”

Of course, Azealia never misses a beat on Twitter, so she fired back at Nicki:

How It Ended: Nicki continued to tour around the world, and Azealia still hasn’t dropped her album.

Azealia Banks vs. Jim Jones

How It Started: As trivial as most of Azealia Banks’ Twitter beefs start, this is probably one of the most petty. The beef between Azealia and fellow Harlem rapper Jim Jones began over the use of the word “Vamp.”

Jim Jones, who owns a clothing line by the name of Vampire Life (Vamp Life for short), got wind of Azealia throwing around the term to her fans. A few subliminals were said and Azealia caught wind of the shade.

Azealia fired shots at Jim Jones on Twitter stating

“@jimjonescapo don’t be tryna take no credit Holmes.”

He quickly fired back

“Knock it off please learn more about Harlem before u start vampin lol jokes enjoy ur day keep #vampin”

The words didn’t end there. Jim eventually called Azealia a “slore” before ending the fight.

Azealia went on to tweet:

How It Ended: Azealia recorded a diss track produced by AraabMuzik titled “Succumbi,” and Jim Jones let her have the last word.

Azealia Banks vs. Funkmaster Flex

How It Started: Shortly after Azealia finished beefing with Jim Jones, Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex weighed in on the beef on his radio show and eventually took sides with Jim Jones.

Azealia heard about his rant over her beef with Jim Jones and tuned in. After listening to Funkmaster Flex’s opinion, Azealia tweeted:

How It Ended: Don’t think Azealia is receiving any spins at Hot 97.

Azealia Banks Vs. Troy Carter (Manager Number 1)

How It Started: After signing a new deal, Azealia hired Lady Gaga’s manager Troy Carter to also manage her career. Only 7 weeks into their partnership, all hell broke loose and Azealia aired out her frustration with Troy on Twitter, tweeting:

“I know who you are yes…You short bald man…I know you planted these false stories.

Guess what?: I’m still not going to let you manage me again. I’ve dealt with enough cyber bullying to see right thru this.

I will definitely be working BY MYSELF and saving MY 20% On management commissions while I avoid you sharks in the water….

I really want a female manager. Women are just so much smarter.

I just want a really hardcore woman…Or a really gay man as my manager…You other niggas have WAY too much ego sh-t with y’all.

I just need a lady with some really intimidating glasses and a crazy shoe game to just stomp all you phonies out!

Lol I’m dead serious tho…About not hiring another male manager. The next manager you all see will be the kuniest kunt ever.”

She then posted on her personal Tumblr:

i never was…. and as soon as i started paying attention to bullshit urban media, i started getting myself in trouble. From now on i’m a vocalist, and will not be associating myself with the “rap game”… or whatever the fuck that means… no more twitter for me… it makes me entirely too accessible. Catch me on tumblr… it’ll be more interesting.

i just don’t want the label and all the other crap that comes with the “rap game”… it’s boring. rather be a dance artist.. lol.”

How It Ended: Azealia fired Troy Carter, deleted her Twitter (for a short period of time), and hired a new manager, Dave Holmes aka Coldplay’s longtime manager.

Azealia Banks vs. Dave Holmes (Manager number 2 and lover)

How It Started: The origin of this beef seems to be centered around domestic violence. After firing Lady Gaga’s manager, Azealia hired Coldplay’s manager Dave Holmes, who she eventually started having a romantic relationship with.

Guess things weren’t going so well, because Azealia dropped a bombshell on Christmas Day via Twitter, accusing Dave Holmes of beating her for the second time.

Azealia tweeted

“Coldplay’s manager Dave Holmes is a piece of shit. Second time he has put his fucking hands on me.

You know how someone lets you down once.. And you give them another chance, and they let you down again?

And you just feel stupid….. Because you knew better?

Ain’t nobody got time for that !

A Jealous Man is a Dangerous man.”

How It Ended: No word if she fired Dave Holmes or if they worked it out, but the “212” rapper has been pretty mum about the whole situation since then.

Azealia Banks vs. Angel Haze

How It Started: Azealia Banks’ once friend, fellow rapper Angel Haze, is her latest foe. We have to give it to Azealia, we don’t think she quite started this beef, but she definitely blew it up.

It all started on the afternoon of January 3, when Azealia tweeted

“Seriously, if you were not born and raised in NY…. DON’T CLAIM NY. YOU ARE NOT A NEW YORKER.”

Nothing too serious to the average Twitter follower, but apparently, fellow femcee Angel Haze took Azealia’s subliminal tweet as a direct diss towards her.

Angel kicked off the Twitter war, stating:

Azealia tweeted back

Twenty minutes later, Angel released a diss record towards Azealia called “On The Edge.”

Azealia got a kick out of the diss track and tweeted back at Angel

The next day, Azealia released a sort of, kind of diss track called “No Problems.”

How It Ended: Hours after Azealia’s diss hit the internet, Angel released one more diss track called “Shut The F*ck Up” and declared that she wouldn’t say anything else to Azealia ever again.
