Justin Timberlake has publicly announced that he plans on dropping another album at the end of this year. And that might be a great idea, considering the rate his just-released album, The 20/20 Experience, is selling!

Billboard reports that The 20/20 Experience is expected to sell more than 800,000 copies in its first week, not only giving him his second number one album, but also giving Timberlake his biggest first week numbers ever (Justified sold 439,000 copies, while his follow-up, FutureSex/LoveSounds, moved 684,000).

If the 800,000 number holds up, it will be the highest sales week for an album by a male artist since Lil Wayne’s 2010 album Tha Carter IV moved 964,000 copies. The last artist to sell over 800,000 copies was Taylor Swift with her Red album, which pushed 1.2 million copies in its first week.

(Side note: Taylor is a beast.)

The numbers are interesting considering that just a couple of days ago the album was on pace to move around 700,000 copes.

Folks must have really liked that “Mirrors” video!
