Ke$ha can’t catch a break.

NEW VIDEO: Ke$ha “Die Young”

First, Taylor Swift whipped her “Tick Tock” cakes, causing Ke$ha to debut at number six on the music charts, and now her lead single “Die Young” is dying fast on the charts.

After tragedy struck the small Connecticut town of Newtown, where 20 children and six adults were senselessly gunned down by 20-year-old Adam Lanza, Ke$ha’s once chart topping single, “Die Young,” plummeted on the charts.

TMZ Reports

“Die Young” clocked in at #3 on the radio playlists on Friday (the day of the shooting) … reaching 167 million listeners nationwide, this according to Mediabase, a company that tracks radio airplay.

By Saturday, the day after the shooting … airplay dropped by 3 million listeners … a sign that stations were slowly pulling the song off the air.

By Monday … “Die Young” took a huge hit on the radio … dropping down to 148 million listeners … a 19 million drop from what had been a pretty steady rotation before the shooting.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Bei Maejor Says Ke$ha’s Mom Can Rap!

According to a music chart expert, a drop off the charts like Ke$ha’s is almost unheard of, but due to the disheartening circumstances we totally get why her party track fell so quickly.

The last time an artist plummeted this fast on the charts was in 2003, when Dixie Chicks’ politically charged comments about President Bush during a London concert got them banned from country music stations across the nation.

Hopefully, Ke$ha will release a new single soon.
