Young Jeezy was once campaigning as “president,” but no one could foresee that he’d be the Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic Records.

DETAILS: YEAHHH! Young Jeezy A New Executive At Atlantic Records?!

Well, that’s just what happened. It was announced today that Young Jeezy has been appointed to oversee the Atlantic Record’s A&R department as the acting SVP.

Young Jeezy seemed enthusiastic about his new position when he tweeted:

“Corporate Thuggin’ To The Max!

LIST: 15 Funniest Album Covers Of All Time!

Jeezy the snowman isn’t the first, nor will he the last artist, to add the title “executive” to their resumes, so GlobalGrind rounded up other artists who have gone from the streets to the boardroom.

Check out other corporate thugs below!

1. After releasing the Black Album and officially declaring his retirement, Jay-Z was appointed to be the president of Def Jam in 2004. In the brief three years he was president, Jay-Z came out of retirement and released Kingdom Come and American Gangster before officially vacating the position.

2. Unbeknownst to the general public, hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz was appointed the position of Chief Executive of the file share company MEGAUPLOAD. It wasn’t until MEGAUPLOAD was indicted in a federal investigation that Swizz Beatz had some interest in the company. Upon investigation, Swizzy claimed that his name being listed as the U.S. CEO was an unofficial title and that he wasn’t heavily involved in the company.

3. Earlier this year, R&B singer Ne-Yo was appointed to take over as the Senior Vice President of A&R at the legendary Motown Records.

4. In early 2009, Harlem rapper Jim Jones was appointed the position of Senior Vice President of Urban A&R of KOCH Records.

5. In 2009, singer/songwriter/producer The-Dream was appointed to Vice President of Island Def Jam. Known for his impeccable songwriting skills, executives at Island Def Jam thought he’d be the perfect fit as VP. Like most artists, The-Dream handed over his executive duties to get back in the studio.
