His own home city/state ranks as one of the leaders on the list; federal prosecutors secured a total of 1,531 public corruption convictions in the Northern District of Illinois since 1976.

Included in that list was former Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich, who was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison on charges that he attempted to sell the Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama.

From 1976 to 2010, the number of total Federal Public Corruption Convictions is staggering depending on the state.
