Nelson Mandela is doing just fine.

DETAILS: Nelson Mandela Hospitalized For Routine Checkup

Mr. Mandela has been released from the hospital after being admitted for a routine checkup. The civil rights legend and South African symbolism of hope reportedly passed with flying colors.

Presidential spokesman Mac Maharaj said the check up was “successful” and that Mandela was “Well.”

Nelson Mandela, 94, is weakened by age and grows increasingly frail as time progresses. In December, Mandela spent reportedly three weeks in the hospital due to a lung infection. Thankfully, after gallstones were removed, he was reunited with his family and the people of South Africa rejoiced.

As the crime rate continues to rise, South Africa finds comfort in Mandela’s legacy.

Thembeni Sebago, a resident of the Soweto town ship in Johannesburg said, “Although he’s old, he’s a real father to South Africa. We need him very, very, very much. But what can we do? If God calls him, it’s time, because he’s old now. He’s old.”

Despite how heavily the people of South Africa rely on Mandela’s existence for psychological strength, they are not blind to the cycle of life.

We are thankful that Nelson Mandela is in good health and pray that South Africa can find peace.
