President Obama seems to have taken a bite of humble pie in anticipation of the first presidential debate, which will be broadcast this Wednesday in Denver.

While speaking to a crowd of 11,200 people, he downplayed his debating skills as “okay,” and called his Republican challenger Mitt Romney, a “good debater.”

He also tried to alleviate the mounting pressure and high expectancy for his performance, and told the rally that will focus on delivering serious answers to important questions, rather than good one-liners.

“Folks in the media are already speculating on who is going to have the best zingers, who is going to put the most points on the board.”

The crowd yelled, ‘you!’ to which Obama responded:

“Governor Romney is a good debater. I’m just okay.”

Romney has also been talking himself down in the buildup to the first of their three presidential debates, in order to make viewers think he did better than expected.

Despite what he says, Obama far exceeds average when it comes to his debating skills. We can’t wait to see him in action!
