Back to Back Barack!

Although President Barack Obama was sworn in for four more years on Sunday morning in a simple ceremony at the White House, the real festivities take place when the Head of State stands on the steps of the Capitol alongside Vice President Joe Biden to be sworn in publicly for a second term in office.

Hundreds of thousands of supporters pour in to watch the ceremony, which opens with Myrlie Evers-Williams, the widow of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers, delivering the invocation, before Obama is sworn in by Chief Justice John G. Roberts.

In the private ceremony held in the White House yesterday, the President took his oath of office with one hand on the Bible of his wife Michelle’s grandmother. Today, Obama’s hands will touch two Bibles – one from President Lincoln and the other from the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
