'The Amateur' Premieres In Europe

We’re just a little over a week away from the release of the upcoming espionage thriller The Amateur. Earlier this week (March 31st), the cast and filmmakers of the 20th Century Studios film linked at London’s Odeon Luxe Leicester Square to celebrate the movie’s European premiere. The Amateur follows Charlie Heller (played by Rami Malek), a brilliant, but deeply introverted decoder for the CIA working out of a basement office at headquarters in Langley. His life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack. When his supervisors refuse to take action, he takes matters into his own hands, embarking on a dangerous trek across the globe to track down those responsible, his intelligence serving as the ultimate weapon for eluding his pursuers and achieving his revenge. In addition to Malek, the film also stars Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Caitríona Balfe (Outlander), Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead, The Punisher, The Bear), Michael Stuhlbarg (Doctor Strange, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), Holt McCallany (Mindhunter), Julianne Nicholson (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Adrian Martinez (Focus), Danny Sapani (Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), and Laurence Fishburne (Boyz n the Hood, the Matrix trilogy, John Wick film series). James Hawes directed the The Amateur. The screenplay is by Ken Nolan and Gary Spinelli based on the novel by Robert Littell. Producers on the project include Hutch Parker, Dan Wilson, Rami Malek and Joel B. Michaels, with JJ Hook serving as executive producer. Many of the film’s contributors were in attendance for the big night in Europe.
