UNTOLD is on its way back with a bang! Today (April 29th), the platform released the trailer for the third of three new stories, pulling back the curtain on epic tales from the wide (and wild) world of sports. This one will break down how one of the NFL’s most beloved players completely tarnished his legacy.
Super Bowl champion. Three-time NFL MVP. Hall of Famer. But that’s not the whole story. This tell-all documentary unravels quarterback Brett Favre’s legacy and pattern of unchecked behavior, including an explicit text message scandal and his involvement in a massive welfare fraud scheme that shocked the nation.
The EverWonder Studio, Front Office Sports and Time Studios produced project was directed by Rebecca Gitlitz. In addition, Gitlitz also served as an executive producer alongside Ian Orefice, Jonna McLaughlin, Amanda Spain, Dave O’Connor, Loren Hammonds, Jon Wertheim, A.J. Perez, Ben Silverman, Howard Owens, Chapman Way, and Maclain Way.
“I’ve always been drawn to the stories filled with nuance and complexity, and when it comes to sports biggest starts, what’s on the other side of fame? The UNTOLD series has shown time and time again that they are willing to tell unfiltered stories no matter the depth. So, making this film on Brett Favre for this series felt like the worlds were aligning. This story about one of the greatest quarterbacks in history goes beyond touchdowns and epic wins and lifts the lid on how when fame rises, sometimes accountability falls. It was made with the intention of laying out patterns of behaviors, told from the people who lived with the consequences of Favre’s actions, to ask audiences to consider if success should be a shield for harmful behavior. Ultimately, the film challenges all of us to consider when we let our heroes go too far, who is to blame? And when the dust settles, can we have honest conversations about the humanity of all of those involved.” said Gitlitz.
UNTOLD: The Fall of Favre will be the third of three
