Ask any person who was born in New York and you’ll hear the pride exude from their voice when they talk about their city. Carmelo Anthony is no different.

In conjunction with today’s official launch of the Melo 9, Jordan brand has released a short film, “Playing for the City That Made Me.”

The video not only touches on Melo’s experiences in his hometown of Red Hook, Brooklyn, but we also get to hear that same love of the city from NYC icons like former Knick Bernard King and the rapper Nas. Carmelo’s mother, brother and childhood friends also weight in on their NYC pride and how much it meant not only to them, but to Carmelo as well.
