Things Overheard In The Conde Nast Elevator

By: Jason Brooks

If there is one place in the office where you spend the least time but hear the most outlandish things, it would probably be the elevator.

Based on where you work you will hear all sorts of crazy thing that pertain to your occupation, so one can only imagine what gets overheard in the Conde Nast building in New York City. The Conde Nast building is located in the heart of Times Square and houses the biggest fashion publications in both men’s and women’s fashion, namely GQ and Vogue

The building has also become well known because of it’s “secret tweeter” who has been covering all of the random things that have been heard in the elevator over the past few weeks.

Most of the tweets play out like an outtake from The Devil Wears Prada, including guest appearances from Anna Wintour and obnoxious interns. If the world wasn’t sure that The Devil Wears Prada was an accurate description of the inner working of the fashion industry, they should have no problem believing now.

In a statement to ABC News, a spokeswoman said:

“We have no idea if this is real or made up and don’t know who is behind it but it certainly suggests that many people care a great deal about what happens at Conde Nast.” When asked whether an effort is under way to uncover who is behind the Twitter account and if the company will allow the account to remain active, the spokeswoman said, “We are still looking into it, so I don’t know what will or won’t happen.”

Normally we would love to see this go on forever, but apparently the heat has come down a little too heavily for the secret tweeter and he or she has decided to give it up.

In a tweet that was put up late last week, the CondeElevator tweeter tweeted:

Girl or Guy #1 [in elevator alone]: This got really crazy. Love my job. Better stop. #sorry

Hopefully someone else starts it up, but until then you guys can take a look at some of the more outrageous tweets after the break or take a look at the twitter account of @CondeElevator.
