Barbara Walters revealed her annual “Most Fascinating People” list last night, and of the 10 coveted spots, she included the perfect mix of controversy, entertainment and politics.
The top spot went to the controversial General David Petraeus, marking the former CIA director’s second time on the list.
Completing the list were Ben Affleck for his film Argo, gold medalist Gabby Douglas, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, British boy band and every tween girl’s dream One Direction, Governor Chris Christie, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, everyone’s favorite reality star Honey Boo Boo, Prince Harry and 50 Shades of Grey author, E L James.
On explaining General Petraeus’ intrigue this year, Barbara Walters said:
“He is, without question, one of the finest officers and military minds of his generation, then shockingly, he resigned this fall as head of the CIA because he’d had an extramarital affair with Paula Broadwell, his biographer. … The story was irresistible – the keeper of the nation’s secrets unable to conceal his own.”
