Justin Combs recently received a $54,000 full athletic scholarship to UCLA in recognition of his stellar 3.75 GPA and the hard work he put in throughout his high school football career.

Although the scholarship was earned, some believe the funding should be stripped from the Iona Prep athlete and distributed to other students due to the hip-hop mogul's loaded income.

UCLA's spokesman Ricardo Vazquez said:

"There's a misconception out there that somehow athletic scholarships would take away money from low-income students who need need-based aid. That's not the case. Athletic scholarships are awarded strictly on the basis of athletic and academic ability."

Late last year, the 42-year-old proud father of  the 5-foot-9, 175-pound defensive back expressed:

"As a parent, today is one of the proudest moments of my life. This is everything a father could want for his son, for him to excel at what he love to do and is truly passionate about."

Although the athlete received a Maybach worth more than $300,000 for his 16th birthday, he worked diligently both in athletics and academics to receive a full ride to the prominent university!
