Matt Bomer Steps Out of the Closet! (DETAILS)

Texas native and White Collar sexy eye-candy Matt Bomer recently acknowledged his sexual orientation by announcing he is gay.

During his acceptance speech at the Desert AIDS Project, Bomer gave praise to and extended his most heartwarming gratitude to his longtime partner, Hollywood publicist Simon Halls and their three children. It was with much humility when he stated:

"I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry… Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment. God bless you."

While his public statement about being gay might come off as a surprise, Bomer has long been in full support of various gay causes including the Trevor Project and GLSEN. Additionally and coincidentally (or maybe not), Bomer is preparing for the role as a gay journalist who contracts HIV in Ryan Murphy's upcoming film adaptation of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart.
