Cops Swarm Diddy's LA Mansion Following Swatting Prank (DETAILS)

Why did Diddy have two police helicopters and more than a dozen cop cars swarm his L.A. home just moments ago?!

Apparently…nothing.

According to TMZ, the dramatic show of police force was brought out by a “swatting prank.”

A swatter made a call that someone was shot inside the home.

Cops are already dispersing … and officials now know it was another celebrity swatting prank. 

TMZ was initially told the target was Steve Carell …. there were multiple cop cars in his driveway.  We’re told cops secured his house because it’s right next to Diddy’s.

But whoever pulled the silly prank is in for a rude awakening. Apparently Los Angeles doesn’t play around with “swatting” pranks and the perp will probably be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!

Next time they’ll exhibit some chill when it comes to playing jokes!
