Michael Johnson set Olympic records when he was named the fastest runner back in 1996.

While people have always wanted to know his secret to victory, he is claiming it had to do with being a slave descent.

The 44 year old former runner claims that a person’s DNA is what gives them an advantage for strength, and that slaves had the right kind for sports.

He said in a new documentary called “Michael Johnson: Survival Of The Fastest”:

“All my life  I believed I became an athlete through my own determination, but it’s impossible to think that being descended from slaves hasn’t left an imprint through the generations. Difficult as it was to hear, slavery has benefited descendants like me – I believe there is a superior  athletic gene in us.”

According to other reports, some doctors also believe that Jamaica had the most aggressive slaves of whom had to endure the most.

It sounds like a very controversial statement for Michael but whatever the genes may be, there are many factors that come play into being the fastest.
