After the tragedy that struck Newtown, Connecticut this morning, President Obama addressed the nation in a brief but emotional speech.

Doing his best to hold back the tears, Obama stated:

“We’ve endured too many of these tragedies in the last few years…we’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent future tragedies like this.”

Obama continued, “While nothing can fill the space of a lost child, or loved one, all of us can extend a hand to those in need…I know there’s not a parent in America who doesn’t feel the same overwhelming grief that I do.”

He eloquently ended with:

“God bless the memory of the victims,” before quoting Psalm 147:3, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
