It’s bikini season and we all want to turn heads and jiggle only where it counts for the official summer uniform: bikinis and short shorts. Let’s take a look at what the celebrities are doing to maintain their figures and see which ones might actually work for us, the common people without personal trainers and private chefs.

KATE HUDSON’S NEW DIET

Apparently Kate Hudson is gaining weight.  She’s got a cute round tush for a woman in her 30’s but maybe she’s still trying to fit into the thong bikini she did a few years back?  Recently on the David Letterman show she tried to resist waffles by saying ‘I don’t want to eat that’ while the slab of butter was seeping into the crunchy waffle underneath the dripping maple syrup.

It’s hard to talk about a three-bite-diet while Dave is offering up such comforting dish on stage.  Kate confesses that she ‘let herself go’ and she is counting calories to counteract it. Feeling a little guilty, she shares that 3 bites of waffle is approximately a 100 calories.

LADY GAGA

On the next plane of fitness is Lady Gaga, an athlete in her own league.  To keep up the energy to battle the press and put on larger-than-life performances, she prepares her body with a rigorous diet and work-out plan regimented by New York Times bestselling author and celebrity trainer, Harley Pasternak who tours with her.

According to Pasternak, a 5-Factor workout can be superbly efficient especially for a celebrity like Gaga.  The workout incorporates a HarleyBar, created by Pasternak which is practically a gym-free equipment that is portable and customizable.  HarleyBars are suitable for add-ons which are great for people on-the-go who don’t have access to gyms all the time.

Lady Gaga warms up to break a sweat by jogging, then goes through circuit training with 3 variations of exercises consisting of 25 repetitions.  To keep her heart rate up, she skips rope for 5 minutes immediately after.  On top of exercising Lady Gaga tells the Daily Telegraph that she monitors what she eats very carefully, ‘I don’t eat bread, just vegetables, salad and fish.  Eating like that is much better for me anyway but on Sundays I sometimes eat pasta.’  To get into the nitty gritty, she follows the 5-Factor World Diet Plan which showcases more than 120 healthy recipes researched and tested around the nutritional habits of the healthiest countries in the world.
