Lebron James certainly caused a stir when he publicly announced his decision eave the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. After spending eight years on the Ohio team without winning a championship, the small forward was ready to make a change.

As well all know, his decision was not taken well. Cleveland fans burned his jersey, but, the harshest Lebron backlash came from Cleveland Cavaliers majority owner, Dan Gilbert, who wrote a scathing open letter to Cleveland fans, in which he called Lebron a “coward” among other things.

The letter was certainly intense, and now Gilbert will have to pay for his outburst – literally. NBA commissioner David Stern fined Gilbert $100,000 for his comments. Stern referred to Gilbert’s letter as ‘a little extreme’.

Obviously, extreme behavior equals extreme consequences.
