Kronreif, Trunkenpolz, Mattighofen better known as KTM is an Austrian motorbike company who has been creating motorcycles, mopeds and scooters since 1934 and has continued to innovate and build on the idea since.
Many of their bikes have went on to win World Motocross awards but in 2007 the company premiered its X-Bow street-legal track car to positive feedback at the Geneva International Motor Show.
The original KTM X-Bow launched in 2008 with 240 horsepower and went on to sell 500 units but the engineers decided that the X-Bow R needed to be faster. The 2011 edition of the track car will have an Audi 3 engine with 300 horsepower and at only 1742 lbs with a lower mounted engine, this bad boy will get up to 60mph in 3 seconds. T
he X-Bow R will come in the Sports model for the streets and a Race model for the track and owners of the original X-Bow will be able to retrofit their car with parts available through X-Bow Powerparts. The X-Bow R is set for release early next year so keep an eye open for new developments at the KTM website HERE.
