We were invited to see Eric Benet perform live at the Highline Ballroom in NY on Monday night and what a treat!
Benet sang his heart out on some familiar songs and showed off some of his new material including his brand new single “Sometimes I Cry” from his upcoming album “Lost In Time.” “Sometimes I Cry” is a well crafted ballad that shows off Benet’s strong soulful falsetto and makes you feel something.
Benet describes “Lost In Time” as an organically produced return to the R&B sound and feel of the early ‘70s concerning relationships as they were in the ‘70s.
To get the sound he wanted, Eric invited his cousin George Nash, Jr., local musicians and the Milwaukee Symphony’s string section from his home state of Wisconsin.
