UP CLOSE & PERSONAL: Diggy

WHAT: The folks over at Rap-Up caught up with Diggy on the set of his video for “Copy, Paste.” Though son of hip-hop royalty, the 16-year-old says there’s no pressure being related to Rev Run and Uncle Rush.

Diggy explains parts of the video, including a laboratory scene where girls are attempting to copy and paste parts of the young MC. “Copy, Paste” was directed by Phil Da God in Los Angeles, so there’s much to look forward to.

BEHIND THE CAMERA: J. Cole

WHAT: The Roc Nation rapper hit L.A. to film the video for his debut album’s single “Work Out.” Still shots from the Jake Davis-directed shoot show Fayettsville’s finest under a lot of lights with a sexy shaped model.

Cole told Rap-Up that this video will be different than what fans have seen from him before, “a more superstar look.” Expect Cole World: The Sideline Story to hit shelves September 27th.

CRUCIAL COLLABS: Lloyd, Keri Hilson, R. Kelly, K’naan

WHAT: These Rhythm & Pop stars teamed up to spread positivity “World Cry.” Lloyd resonates feelings of disappointment in the evils of humankind, saying he wishes he could wipe the tears from the world. Keri sings for us to change our ways, as R. Kelly challenges ourselves to see each other as the enemy. This peace anthem will be on Lloyd’s fourth album King of Hearts.

BACK IN ACTION: 9th Wonder

WHAT: We will reach The Wonder Years on September 27th of this year. The star-studded LP includes features from David Banner, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, Murs, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Warren G, Big K.R.I.T, Marsha Ambrosius, Big Remo, Rapsody, and Phonte Coleman. The album will come to us around the same time as 9th’s documentary “The Wonder Year.”
