Telling the story of racism, segregation and prejudiced attitudes in the 1960s, The Help is a film that is still relevant, while presenting a story that has never been told quite this way before.

The Help follows the genius idea of a white college-educated woman who returns to Mississippi to get the stories and opinions of the Black women who have been taking care of southern white families all of their lives.

This movie is controversial, real and hits home for the legendary R&B/Soul superstar Mary J. Blige, whose aunt was a maid back in those days.

As always, when Mary J. sings, she sings from deep within her heart. Her soundtrack for The Help which is called “The Living Proof” is no exception.

The awesome movie is in theaters today and just in time, Mary J. has released a video to accompany the soundtrack.
