It seems like the self-proclaimed non-R&B singer Frank Ocean appeared on the music scene overnight, but Mr. Christopher Breaux, Frank’s birth name, has been doing this music sh*t for a while now.

In a recent interview with Fader, Frank Ocean was openly candid about his life story, his music and his overnight success. Frank’s music seems simply complex and his process behind creating a quality song is contrived of magical thoughts and a great imagination.

NEW MUSIC: Frank Ocean “Best Seller”

Motivated to create a story line in each one of his fan’s minds, Frank uses his love for personifying inanimate objects and love with abstract romance stories.

One of his most popular songs “Novacane,” off his mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra, is the perfect example of a rather complicated love story filled with pain and dysfunction, and for many of us, it’s the story of our lives.

Heart-wrenching, mind-boggling, and filled with pain, Frank’s “Novacane” provided a validation for all the love-stricken human beings who thought they were the only ones.

As he sings about his journey through love, life and pain, nothing other than novocain seems to numb the pain.

“Been tryna film pleasure with my eyes wide shut but it keeps on movin’/ I blame it on the model broad with the Hollywood smile/ Stripper booty with the rack like wow, I’ll never forget ya/ You put me on a feelin’ I never had, never had, never had.

And ever since I’ve been tryna get it back, pick it up and put it back/ Now I’m somethin’ like the chemist on campus/But there’s no drug around, quite like what I found in you/I still can’t feel my face, what am I smokin’ anyway/ She said don’t let the high go to waste but can you taste a little taste of.”

Creating the musical “Love Crimes,” it’s obvious that Frank Ocean’s thought process is quite different than his fellow musical croonies.

So much so, that he has Hollywood veterans like Beyonce, Jay-Z and Kanye West wanting to pick his brain to create musical phenomenons on their well-seasoned albums.

It’s quite obvious that Frank Ocean has a gift.

One that can’t be broken into simple terms or defined by some guy name Webster, but one thing is for sure, Frank’s form of therapy, his music, is our means of a simple bliss.
