Meagan Good got a lot going on these days, but nothing makes her smile more than the success of her sister, La’Myia, who just released a smash video for the song “Speak With Ya Body,” a blazing hot record from Tanzanian rapper Ay that features “Dancing With The Stars” hit-man, Romeo.
GlobalGrind caught up with Ms. Goode from the set of “Think Like A Man”, the movie inspired by Steve Harvey’s book “Act Like A Lady Think Like A Man.”
“We have been working really hard to finish the movie. Yesterday we stopped at 3AM, today we ended at 5AM. But, I wanted to take a moment during a break to speak to you all because I am a proud sister. La’Myia started off on the singing route and I went the acting route. When we were both little girls we both wanted to be actresses and singers, so it is kind of amazing that our dreams came true. La’Myia after a few years with Isyss and after having a #1 record with Jadakiss, my sister is finally embarking on her solo career, which is something she has always wanted. Although there isn’t a whole lot of choreography in this video, she really is like a young Janet Jackson. The way she moves is incredible.”
Not only is Meagan a supportive sister when it comes to La’Myia’s singing career, but the two beautiful sisters have also worked together on screen.
Most recently, La’Myia played her on-screen sister in the Meagan Good produced film, Video Girl, which opened to amazing reviews and is now playing in theaters across the country.
And don’t think Meagan doesn’t like to rock the mic as well … she got her own group H.E.L.L.O. Girls that La’Myia also joins her in, making music that Meagan describes as punky girl grunge, like “Vanity 6 meets Beastie Boys”.
“I am blessed to be working a lot and excited for the new things to come. I just wrapped the entire season of Californication, Jumping the Broom is coming out on DVD and the Steve Harvey project has been a lot of fun.
To see my sister doing what she has always wanted to do couldn’t make me any happier.”
