Dania plays bad ass bike messenger, Vanessa, in New York City. We caught up with Dania to get the scoop on her role as the trailer for Premium Rush premiered earlier this week. Check out the trailer for the film after the interview!

GlobalGrind: How did you get involved in this movie?

I read the script and loved the idea of the film. I felt it was a cool world to be a part of and it felt really cool and different.  I really respect, and wanted a chance to work with Joseph Gordon Levitt! And the writer/director David Koepp, wrote films like Mission: Impossible, Jurassic Park, Spider man so it was a privilege to be in such great company!

What do you hope this movie does for your career?

Careers in this business are always up and down. I just love what I do, and I’m blessed to get a chance to get paid to do it. This film gave me the opportunity to play a character I haven’t really gotten a chance to play before. My character is a very real and 3 dimensional character, she is passionate, edgy but has a very soft intimate side.

What was your favorite thing about your role?

My absolute favorite thing was to get a chance to become bad ass at bike riding. The training was intense! I really loved learning and living in the bike messenger world! And the fact that I got to be home in NYC to film it was such a plus!

What was most challenging for you during the filming process?

The most challenging part was the same thing I loved! Riding a bike at high speeds all throughout NYC. I don’t think one day went by that I didn’t fall off my bike or almost crashed! Try doing dialogue, riding the bike and yelling at pedestrians that live in those neighborhoods and don’t wanna hear it when a PA tells “you can’t cross now, we’re rolling”! Gotta love NYC!
