Finally, the Bluth Family is back!

Creator Mitchell Hurwitz has confirmed that the ridiculously funny Fox show Arrested Development will be back on television for a limited season, followed by the release of a feature length movie.

This news almost makes you want to rush to the nearest frozen banana stand!

Hurwitz made the announcement at the New York Festival in New York City, accompanied by the cast of the show including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor and Portia de Rossi. You can expect to see the whole original cast making their return.

Here are some more details on what we can expect:

The new season will be limited in that it will not have as many episodes as the previous seasons. But Hurwitz claims it will have at least 10 episodes, each one focusing on one central character. They are all wacky, so no complaints there.

Although previously airing on Fox, it is unlikely to be there anymore. The show will most likely air on Showtime and Netflix, though an official deal has yet to be confirmed.

If you want to be kept in the loop about any upcoming show information, keep track of Twitter, as Will Arnett and Jason Bateman are avid users and post any new info they can.

“It’s true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie. Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ’13. VERY excited!” stated Bateman on Twitter.

And yes, you may have to wait at least one year before the show goes on air, since shooting won’t begin until Summer 2012. But if you have watched the show, you already know it’s well worth the wait.
