Are you REALLY paying attention to the statistics of this epidemic?? The #1 killer of young African American and Latina women is HIV/AIDS. This notion is not only very sad, but frightening. Look at yourself in the mirror and ask, ‘Do I want to be another statistic?’ I cannot stress how important it is to know your status and to get tested.
It is never ‘uncool’ to assert and protect yourself. Someone who truly cares about you, and themselves, will never lose respect for you, if you insist on respecting yourself first. Be vocal. Ask questions. Use protection. It could be the difference between living your life or losing it.
