Oscar de la Renta is one of the most well regarded fashion designers in the business and one of Spain’s most fashion forward thinkers.

So of course, one show we’re looking forward to seeing this holiday season is Joaquín Sorolla and the Glory Of The Spanish Dress. Conceived by Oscar de la Renta and curated by Vogue’s André Leon Talley, and now on view through March at the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in NYC, The Glory of the Spanish Dress is true to its name.

The beauty of the show lay in the choices for the exhibition by Leon Talley: 10 paintings and over 30 rare examples of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories.

In an unprecedented partnership with the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the exhibition also highlights costumes and artwork never before exhibited in the United States. In addition, a selection of pieces from important contemporary designers will demonstrate Spain’s enduring influence on fashion.
