The year 2012 is going to be a defining one for Frank Ocean

We think so and apparently so does the BBC, who ranked Frank Ocean number two on their Sound Of 2012 list.

MUSIC: Frank Ocean “4 Tears”

BBC’s Sound of 2012 list is a series where the publication ranks and profiles some of music’s rising and most promising talent.

MUSIC: Frank Ocean “Thinking About You”

Number one on their list is British singer Michael Kiwanuka who is then followed by our man Frank Ocean, whose first official project, nostalgia, ULTRA, was one of the best releases of the year.

The award for coming in at number two is a write-up (which you can find here) and the nifty and revealing video you see above.

For nearly ten minutes Frank Ocean goes in-depth about what it felt like to work with Jay-Z, Kanye West and Beyonce, “the labor of love” it was to make nostalgia, ULTRA, what his association with OFWGKTA has done for his creative process and what we can expect from his official Def Jam debut album.

It’s a really cool, well done video that you should check out!
