Today, is the 2010 NFL Opener as the Minnesota Vikings take on the New Orleans Saints in the Super Dome. Even 5 years after Katrina, the New Orleans Saints can open up the NFL Season as the Champs! That has to be a good feeling, even though as Spike Lee showed us in, If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise, that the city of New Orleans and our people still have a long way to go.

So Thursday, Sept.9 at 8:30 pm on NBC the NFLs NFC title game rematch will take place. In comparison the New Orleans Saints have better rankings and numbers than the Minnesota Vikings, and not to mention they are the NFL Champions coming off their Super Bowl win. But still there are many that think the Vikings will come out in a blaze and surprise New Orleans, welcome to the NFL Season as we are ready for all upsets and surprises. The New Orleans Saints get more average yards than the Vikings in an offensive comparison with the two teams being marked equally when it comes to 3rd down conversions. But on the defensive side of the ball the Vikings are allowing way less yards per game and also allow less points per game for their opponent than the Saints.

To go on and continue we wanted to introduce some factors and major points key points about the teams and the players going into the game, that may affect the game.

First Factor: This 2010-2011 NFL Season is the Minnesota Vikings 50th Season, so the team will be amped and will want and are expected to play with a certain amount of pride for the franchise.

They have encouraged all fans to wear Purple for a ‘Purple Thursday’ as they do something called ‘Purple Friday’ which started in 2008.
