The Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF) is a non-profit international organization that raises money to support education initiatives to develop and empower economically disadvantaged people in African nations where diamonds are a natural resource.
Last week, New York’s elite got together at the top of The Empire Hotel to celebrate the 1st annual DEF GOOD Awards.
The award ceremony was created to raise awareness and educate the diamond and jewelry industry on the purpose behind the Diamond Empowerment Fund.
The gorgeous Ivanka Trump, Ms. Rebecca Foerster, Ms. Varda Shine, Edward Hrabak, Fern Mallis and Dr. Ben Chavis were just some of those in attendance as Grammy-nominated R&B singer Melanie Fiona delighted the crowd with a special performance.
