Russian plus sized model Katya Zharkova has a photo spread in this month’s Plus Models Magazine and she bares it all for a good cause.

The blonde beauty wants to change the public perception of what a healthy body is and fight against unhealthy habits to obtain that image.

Because of the imagery we see on a day-to-day basis, weight standards have dropped dramatically over the last two decades. It is getting harder for “average” women to find clothing and the women who model the desired clothing are usually underweight.

The average fashion model is 28 percent smaller than the average woman’s weight right now. Although obesity is on the rise and weight averages may have also risen in the last decade or so, we are still having a problem, as a nation, with anorexia and bulimia because of the perception of what beauty is in today’s mass media.

The magazine spread features Katya by herself and with a smaller model with captions that say things like:

“Most runway models meet the Body Mass Index physical criteria for Anorexia” and “50 percent of women wear a size 14 or larger, but most standard clothing outlets cater to sizes 14 or smaller.”
